decided on a whim to have dinner at basil alcove since it's near my office and have heard good things about it.as expected, not much of an ambience to start with. but managed to get a table inside so the humidity wasn't a problem. shared 2 starters: classic caesar which comes with roasted chicken and mussels in white wine sauce. i like the caesar very much. thought that the mussels were a trifle overcooked.
my main course of mushroom pasta in black pepper sauce was chockful of delicious mushrooms. i felt that the black pepper sauce could have more heat. overall, basil alcove has a good value-for-money proposition.
